Dr. John Crawford was born into a family of seven children and raised in the town of his current orthodontic practice: Kenosha, Wisconsin. Dr. Crawford has a strong academic background, graduating valedictorian from Tremper High School in 1975. He attended Marquette University for undergraduate studies, and graduated cum laude from Marquette Dental School in 1982. After practicing general dentistry for one year with his father, he entered a two year orthodontic residency at Marquette, where he graduated in 1985 with a Masters Degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Crawford completed his final phase of Board Certification in 1988, becoming Kenosha County’s first Board Certified Orthodontist.

In addition to improving people’s smiles in the office, Dr. Crawford enjoys his personal life with his wife, Susan. Together they have raised their three children, Jane, James and Julie. Throughout the years, he has coached both boys little league and girls youth soccer. His hobbies include spending time with his 7 grandchildren, tennis, camping, canoeing, scuba diving, working outdoors, hunting with his son and playing jazz piano. Dr. Crawford plays piano regularly in The John Crawford Jazz Band. You can check out his musical talents on Monday nights from 7:30-10:30pm at Sazzy B’s in downtown Kenosha, in addition to other local events!

Dr. Crawford has held leadership roles that include: Past President of the WSO (Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists), the MSO (Midwest Society of Orthodontists), and the local American Cancer Society, in addition to serving several years on the Board of Directors of Southport Bank, and being an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Western Kenosha.
